Performance & Capability
Under the hood, the 2017 Ford Escape SE is powered by an EcoBoost 1.5L I-4 direct injection, DOHC, variable valve control, intercooled turbo regular gasoline engine paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Generating 179HP, this turbocharged 4-cylinder powertrain balances energetic acceleration with remarkable efficiency, achieving an EPA-estimated 23 MPG in the city and 30 MPG on the highway. Built on a Front Wheel Drive platform with a four-wheel independent suspension featuring front struts and a rear short and long arm setup, the Escape offers a composed, car-like ride quality with precise rack-and-pinion electric power-assist steering. Integrated Auto Start-Stop technology helps conserve fuel during stop-and-go driving, while active grille shutters optimize aerodynamics at highway speeds. Electronic stability control AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control provides dependable traction management across various driving conditions. Equipped with 17-inch Sparkle Silver painted aluminum wheels, a 3.21 axle ratio, and four-wheel disc ABS brakes, this crossover delivers steady handling, smooth stopping power, and efficient cruising for all your daily travels.

Driver assistance and monitoring features include a rear-view backup camera, 911 Assist emergency communication capability, an exterior temperature display, and an ECO feedback display gauge to help monitor driving efficiency.
