Efficient Performance and City-Friendly Handling

Under the hood, the 2014 Scion iQ Base features a responsive 1.3L I-4 DOHC engine with variable valve control, operating on regular gasoline and generating 94HP. This aluminum-block four-cylinder engine is paired with a smooth Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) and a light, efficient Front Wheel Drive setup. This combination delivers impressive efficiency with an EPA-estimated 36 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway. Built on a short 78.7-inch wheelbase with an independent front strut suspension and semi-independent rear torsion beam suspension, the iQ glides through tight turns and fits effortlessly into parking spots that larger vehicles must pass up. Mounted on 16-inch steel wheels with full wheel covers and all-season tires, this hatchback offers a balanced, confident ride on city streets and open highways alike.

Modern Technology and Audio Features

Inside the cabin, the Scion iQ Base combines clever interior space planning with intuitive technology. Entertainment is driven by a premium Pioneer audio system featuring a 6.1-inch primary touchscreen display and a 6-speaker sound system. Wireless streaming via Bluetooth® connection and handsfree Bluetooth® connectivity allow you to stream music or manage calls safely while driving. An auxiliary audio input and MP3 capability provide additional ways to plug in your favorite media devices. Drivers will appreciate the convenience of steering wheel-mounted audio controls, letting you adjust tracks and volume without taking your hands off the wheel. The dashboard layout features clean analog instrumentation, a digital clock, and an outside temperature display to keep vital trip information clear and accessible at a glance.
